I'll sing a song for you tonight,
If you'll look me in the eyes,
I'm not gonna tell you a lie,
God knows you're sad enough.
I flipped a coin and sent it reeling,
I landed up and you landed down,
Doesn't matter cause in the end,
It's still the same coin.
I blinked and missed it yet still I see,
The image of you alone,
But when I tried my best to reach you,
All I was looking at was me.
The stars they couldn't burn brighter,
Still we failed to see,
I thought the equation was all in 'hope',
Yet I forgot to divide by 'pain'.
And the streets have broken windows,
They lie smashed upon your face,
And the fire keeps on screaming,
It's never been so out of place.

We make for your sake such things as stand fast,
Through the ages these pages forever will last.
On blank paper the printer sets down what is heard,
Giving life to what's rife with the power of the word. -Michael Kongehl
